We know there’s always a bit of artistic licence when it comes to making TV shows, but this is really impressive.
PBS has posted a video taking a look behind the scenes of The Durrells.
The clip reveals that the inside of the Durrell family home is in fact shot nearly one and a half thousand miles away from the exterior scenes in Corfu!
Producer Christopher Hall explains: “Almost all the interior shots are shot at Ealing Studios in England.”
The Durrells star Keeley Hawes, who plays Louisa, added: “Every time you tell anybody that they’re in two completely different places in the world, people are always amazed.”
Watch how it’s done:
Based upon Gerald Durrell’s classic trilogy of Corfu memoirs, Season 3 is currently airing in the USA at 8/7c on Sunday nights on Masterpiece on PBS until 18th November.
Season 1 and Season 2 are available to buy on DVD on Amazon here.
