14 adorable behind-the-scenes photos of the ‘Sanditon’ cast

PBS has released a gallery of lovely images taken during the filming of Sandition.

Based on Jane Austen’s unfinished final novel, the new period drama series launched in the UK last autumn and aired in the US this spring.

Austen’s original 11-chapter manuscript, written only months before her death in 1817, was brought to screen by award-winning writer Andrew Davies (Pride & Prejudice, Les Misérables).

It was confirmed earlier this year that Sanditon has officially been cancelled, although there’s still a chance the show could return for a second season!

The first season of Sanditon is available to watch on Amazon Prime’s PBS Masterpiece channel and you can sign up for a free 7-day trial if you’re not already a member.

These photos show cast members Theo James (Downton Abbey), Kris Marshall (Death in Paradise) and Anne Reid (Last Tango in Halifax) behind the scenes on the eight-part adaptation last year.

The writer of Sanditon, Andrew Davies, is back this summer with a brand new period drama series on BBC One.

A Suitable Boy began last weekend in the UK and will premiere on Netflix worldwide later this year.
