‘Bodies’ trailer: First look at ‘Poldark’ star’s Netflix period crime drama
Netflix has released a teaser trailer for Bodies!
Based on Si Spencer‘s mind-bending 2015 graphic novel, the upcoming British drama is described as “a crime procedural with a twist.”
The eight-part series follows four detectives in four different eras of London as they find themselves investigating the same unidentified body in Whitechapel in the 1890s, the 1940s, 2014 and a post-apocalyptic 2050.
Bodies stars Kyle Soller (Andor), Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (The Queen’s Gambit), Shira Haas (Unorthodox), and Amaka Okafor (The Responder) as its four lead characters.
You’ll recognise Soller as Francis in Poldark, and you might have seen Fortune-Lloyd in last year’s fun murder-mystery movie See How They Run.
The cast also includes award-winning actor Stephen Graham from Peaky Blinders and Line of Duty.
The official synopsis reads: “When a body – the same body – is found on Longharvest Lane in London’s East End in 1890, 1941, 2023 and 2053, one detective from each period must investigate.
“As connections are drawn across the decades, the detectives soon discover their investigations are linked, and an enigmatic political leader – Elias Mannix – becomes increasingly central.
“Did he have a part to play in the murder? Or is something far more sinister at play? To solve the mystery, our four detectives must somehow collaborate and uncover a conspiracy spanning over 150 years.”
When’s the release date?
All eight episodes of Bodies will premiere on Thursday 19 October exclusively on Netflix.

“First time in a long time that something original from Netflix actually seems to have real potential,” wrote one user. “Looking forward to watching it.”
Viewers are especially excited about the presence of Stephen Graham amongst the cast.
“Been waiting for this since Stephen Graham was announced for the role,” a commenter says. “He pretty consistently elevates everything he’s in, so I am hopeful!”
“Saw Stephen Graham’s face as the thumbnail. Don’t even have to ask, I’m all in!” joked another. “Dude’s been one of the most underrated actors for a very long while now and he’s one of the greats from over there in UK.”
He’s a brilliant actor, so we can’t argue with that!
