‘Dracula’ actor says another season is ‘absolutely being discussed’
We’ve got some positive-sounding news for Dracula fans!
Based on Bram Stoker’s classic Gothic novel, three feature-length TV movies premiered on BBC One and around the world on Netflix in January.
Sherlock creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss, who wrote the mini-series, have previously discussed the possibility of a second season.
Now Danish actor Claes Bang (Borgen), who plays the titular blood-drinking Count, has been chatting about the odds of Dracula returning for another bite.
Bang told Collider: “That’s absolutely something that I think is being discussed, but I don’t think there’s any news, at all. I haven’t heard anything.
“I would be super happy to do one more [season]. I’d love to go back with all of those people, and do more.”
Bang added: “It was were really fulfilling and lovely, and really, really cool to do. This is absolutely the truth, I have actually tried to find out if something was happening, but I don’t think they have started the discussions yet.”
He revealed: “I think what’s going on is that Netflix and the BBC are evaluating how it’s done, and all of that. So, unfortunately, I can’t tell you anything because I don’t know, at this point.
“I would actually love to know, and I would love to do one more, but there’s no news in that department yet.”
Dracula received mostly positive reviews for its first and second episodes, although viewers were less impressed with the final instalment.
Sherlock co-writer Steven Moffat teased earlier this year: “I mean, [Dracula] is a show about resurrection. That’s literally what the main superpower of the main character is.”
We’ll let you know as soon as we hear further news on a second season of Dracula!
