‘Grantchester’ cast reunite as Season 4 begins production
The new season of Grantchester is about to start filming!
It’s been a long wait since Grantchester last aired in early 2017, but ITV announced in May that Grantchester will be back for a fourth season.
Sadly, the new episodes will feature the departure of James Norton as Sidney Chambers.
With filming about to begin in London, Cambridge and Grantchester, fans can expect to hear who Norton’s replacement will be very soon.
Grantchester creator James Runcie has revealed that the cast reunited this week for Season 4’s first script read-through.

Robson Green is returning as Detective Geordie Keating, alongside other regular cast members Al Weaver, Tessa Peake-Jones and Kacey Ainsworth.
Based on James Runcie’s novels, the period drama series is set in the 1950s in the Cambridgeshire village of Grantchester and was first broadcast in 2014.
Discussing James Norton’s exit, executive producer Diederick Santer said recently: “We’ve got exciting plans for where the show is heading and the vicarage won’t be vacant for long.”
Season 3 is available now to buy on DVD.
The fourth season of Grantchester is expected to air on ITV in early 2019.
