Where to see ‘Poldark’ and ‘Victoria’ stars on stage together in new play

Two of our favourite actors have teamed up in a hilarious new show!

Jenna Coleman and Aidan Turner are currently starring together in the West End premiere of Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons.

Coleman is best known for her roles in Victoria, Doctor Who, The Cry, and The Serpent, while Turner shot to fame in hit BBC dramas Poldark and Being Human.

Sam Steiner’s debut play is described as “a tender and funny romantic comedy about what we say, how we say it, and what happens when we can’t say anything anymore.”

Watch the play’s stars explain what it’s about in this fun video:

When it was first staged at Warwick Arts Centre in 2015, the play won three Judges’ Awards at the National Student Drama Festival.

Writer Sam Steiner commented: “Writing Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons taught me how to be a playwright. The opportunity to revisit and grow the play all these years later and bring it to a larger audience with [director Josie Rourke], Aidan, Jenna and an alarmingly inspiring creative team is thrilling and confounding in equal measure.”

He added: “I hope it speaks to now in a way that I couldn’t have predicted then. And I hope to keep learning.”

When and where is the play on?

Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons kicked off a limited run in London last month, running at the Harold Pinter Theatre until 18th March.

The production will then move to Manchester Opera House from 21st to 25th March, before transferring down to Theatre Royal Brighton from 28th March until 1st April.

Tickets are on sale now!

Here’s a lovely clip of Aidan Turner and Jenna Coleman telling people why they should come to see the play:

Director Josie Rourke previously helmed 2018’s Oscar-nominated Mary Queen of Scots movie, starring Margot Robbie and Saoirse Ronan.

Discussing Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons, Rourke said: “I feel we are in a moment where – however indirectly – theatre might help us digest how we lived and changed through the extremes of the past few years.

“Sam’s play finds the humanity in how people and couples work through extreme situations. There is the potential for great joy, fun, reflection and healing in that.”
