Several new cast members have been announced for the third season of Victoria.

Filming began last month on eight new episodes.

Returning to their roles as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert, Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) and Tom Hughes (The Game) will be joined in Season 3 by Laurence Fox and Kate Fleetwood.

Laurence Fox, best known as DS James Hathaway in crime drama Lewis, will the play charismatic and wayward Foreign Secretary, Lord Palmerston.

Harlots star Kate Fleetwood will play Victoria’s mysterious sister, Feodora, who makes an unexpected return into the Queen’s life.

Other new cast additions will include comedian John Sessions (The Loch) as Prime Minister John Russell and Lily Travers (Kingsman) as the Duchess of Monmouth, alongside Nicholas Audsley (The White Princess) and David Burnett (The Mummy).

Executive producer Damien Timmer has teased that the new season will be “filled to the brim with royal scandals, political skirmishes and constitutional crises.”
