Second season of ‘The Crown’ has now finished filming

The Crown star Claire Foy has revealed that filming of the show’s second season is complete.

The biographical period drama tells the story of the reign of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom.

The ten-part first season debuted on Netflix in November 2016 and creator/writer Peter Morgan’s plan is for the series to run for six seasons and 60 episodes in total.

Discussing the second season with Entertainment Weekly, actress Claire Foy, who plays the Queen, revealed: “Yeah, it’s all done. It was amazing. It was completely different, like a completely different show in a way.”

She hinted: “The direction the show has gone in is very different and the period of time is moving on, so it does feel very different.”

Foy added: “It was also lucky because [Season 1] came out while we were all shooting so it was really lovely that it went down so well. It was really lovely for all of the crew and the cast to be like, ‘Woohoo, we’re doing it again!'”

Season 2 is expected to premiere on Netflix this November.
