‘The Last Kingdom’ returns soon: Watch the Season 3 trailer!

The first preview for the new season of The Last Kingdom has been released.

Based on the Saxon Stories novels by English author Bernard Cornwell, the epic historical drama series is set in the late 9th century AD, when England is divided into seven separate kingdoms.

Featuring two more episodes than usual, Season 3 will premiere exclusively on Netflix later this year.

The Last Kingdom tells the story of a Saxon man (Uhtred, played by Alexander Dreymon), raised by Danes, who must choose a side and play his part in the birth of a nation, alongside King Alfred the Great (David Dawson).

The first two seasons aired on BBC Two in the UK in 2015 and 2017.
