The new season of ‘The Durrells’ will have more episodes than usual!

The Durrells fans can look forward to the longest season yet when the show returns this spring.

The family drama series launched on ITV in the UK in April 2016 and airs in the US on PBS. The first two seasons each ran for 6 episodes.

ITV has now revealed that the upcoming third season will have 8 episodes.

The Durrells is based upon Gerald Durrell’s classic trilogy of Corfu memoirs, telling the story of Louisa Durrell, who decides to uproot her family from Bournemouth to start a new life in Corfu.

Season 1 and Season 2 are available to buy on DVD now.

Set in 1937, this year’s episodes will introduce “some exotic new animals,” according to creator Simon Nye.
