Watch the trailer for Bill Nighy’s new 1950s drama ‘The Bookshop’

A new movie based on Penelope Fitzgerald’s novel The Bookshop is out later this month.

Starring Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson and Bill Nighy, the movie is set in a small English seaside town in 1959.

The story of The Bookshop follows free-spirited widow Florence Green (Mortimer), who puts grief behind her and risks everything to open up a bookshop, fighting damp, cold and considerable local apathy. Her activities bring her a kindred spirit and ally in the figure of Mr. Brundish (Nighy) who is himself sick of the town’s stale atmosphere.
