Call the Midwife fans now have a great way to pass the time until the arrival of the next season.
Originally set in the late 1950s, the BBC’s hit period drama about a group of nurse midwives working in the East End of London launched in January 2012.
While we patiently wait for the Poplar midwives to return in this year’s Christmas special, fans can now play an official Call the Midwife board game!
The game’s description reads: “Be part of the popular drama Call the Midwife, by helping women all over Poplar as they go into labour! The midwives of Nonnatus House have never been so busy, delivering babies in all sorts of locations!
“Will you get to your next delivery on time or will you be required to divert to the Surgery to assist Dr Turner? Try not to get a bicycle puncture or forget your delivery pack as you might be delivering twins or even triplets!
“Using easy to learn gameplay, roll the dice, collect cards and delivers babies! The midwife to deliver the most babies wins the game!”
Call the Midwife creator Heidi Thomas recently revealed when she expects the show to reach a natural end.
Season 8 will premiere in the USA this spring on Masterpiece on PBS.
The seventh season of Call the Midwife is available now on DVD on Amazon.
