Watch ‘Downton Abbey’ star perform ABBA song in ‘Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!’ clip

The makers of the new Mamma Mia! sequel have released an entire scene from the movie online.

Starring Lily James (Downton Abbey, War & Peace) as the young version of Meryl Streep’s character Donna, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! is out in cinemas on 20 July.

The story will go “back and forth in time to show how relationships forged in the past resonate in the present.”

Adapted from the 1999 West End musical of the same name and based on the songs of Swedish pop group ABBA, the original Mamma Mia! film was released in cinemas back in 2008 and grossed more than $600 million around the world.

The movie is available to buy on DVD.

Written and directed by Ol Parker (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel), Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! features the return of original cast members Meryl Streep, Amanda Seyfried, Julie Walters, Christine Baranski, Colin Firth, Pierce Brosnan, Stellan Skarsgård and Dominic Cooper.
