Poll: Who was 2020’s best actress in a British period drama? Vote here!

As 2020 comes to a close, it’s time to look back at the most memorable performances from the past 12 months.

With most of us spending more time inside this year than usual due to the coronavirus pandemic, at least the year has still been packed with some wonderful British period dramas to watch.

On the big screen, where cinemas were open, highlights included Anya Taylor-Joy in Emma, Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Misbehaviour, and Kate Winslet in Ammonite.

Meanwhile, on television we were introduced to Sophie Cookson in The Trial of Christine Keeler, and Rose Williams as Charlotte in Sanditon, plus established actresses such Tamsin Greig in Belgravia, Gemma Arterton in Black Narcissus, and Lily James in Rebecca.

All these alongside returning stars like Caitriona Balfe in Outlander, Jennifer Kirby in Call the Midwife, and Olivia Colman in The Crown.

Now we want to know which of 2020’s performances you thought were the best!
