‘Death on the Nile’ trailer: First look at Kenneth Branagh’s Poirot sequel – watch!

The first trailer has been unveiled for Death on the Nile.

A sequel to 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express, the upcoming movie sees Kenneth Branagh return as Hercule Poirot.

The follow-up is based on Agatha Christie’s classic murder mystery novel, originally published in 1937.

Alongside Branagh, who has also directed both of his Poirot films, Death on the Nile features a huge star-filled ensemble cast.

The big names include Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Armie Hammer (Call Me By Your Name), Rose Leslie (Downton Abbey), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Annette Bening (American Beauty), Ali Fazal (Victoria & Abdul), Sophie Okonedo (Christopher Robin), Tom Bateman (Vanity Fair), and Russell Brand, plus comedy double-act Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders.

The official synopsis reads: “Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short.

“Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.”
