‘Downton Abbey’ star reveals when the sequel begins filming
Jim Carter has given fans some very welcome news about the second Downton movie!
Based on ITV’s hit period drama series, the first Downton Abbey film was released last autumn, where it topped the box office in the UK and the US.
A sequel was being talked about before the first movie was even released and last week Mr Carson star Jim Carter revealed that the script is now ready.
Speaking on British daytime show This Morning, the 72-year-old English actor also announced that the Downton team aim to start shooting the new movie in 2021.
He told viewers: “The will is that, COVID-willing, that we’ll film it next year.”
Jim Carter has described the script as “very funny” and he also confirmed that “all the regular characters” will appear.
Plot details for the sequel are still a mystery, but we do know that the producers are considering setting part of the sequel in America, while the prognosis for the Dowager Countess might not be as final as it appeared.
The first Downton Abbey movie is available on DVD on Amazon.
