‘Fantastic Beasts 3′ filming is cancelled due to coronavirus

Production on the next Fantastic Beasts movie has been postponed.

Exploring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the planned five-film prequel franchise launched in 2016 with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Set in post-World War I Europe, the movie was followed in 2018 with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

The original schedule had been for a third film to be released at the end of 2020.

However, it was confirmed last May that Fantastic Beasts 3 was to be delayed by a year so that writer JK Rowling could spend more time on the script.

Filming was finally due to start in London, England next week.

In unsurprising news, it’s now been announced that Warner Bros. has suspended production on the movie due to the the coronavirus pandemic.

Fantastic Beasts 3 is no longer expected to be ready for its planned November 2021 release date.

Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Johnny Depp, and Jude Law are all expected to reprise their roles in the third Harry Potter prequel movie.

The new season of Peaky Blinders has also had filming postponed this week.

The complete 8-film Harry Potter DVD box set is available on Amazon.
