James Norton’s 1930s thriller movie ‘Mr Jones’ has been released online

Mr Jones has bypassed a release in US cinemas and is now available to watch online!

Based on the true life-or-death journey that inspired George Orwell to write Animal Farm, the movie stars Grantchester actor James Norton.

The cast also includes Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) as British journalist Ada Brooks, alongside Peter Sarsgaard (The Killing) and Fenella Woolgar (Call the Midwife).

Mr Jones was released in the UK earlier this year, but its US release was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Luckily, it’s now been made available digitally instead and you can watch it on Amazon Prime Video now!

Directed by Agnieszka Holland (House of Cards), Mr Jones is set against the backdrop of Hitler’s rise to power in the buildup to World War II and Stalin’s Soviet propaganda machine pushing their “utopia” to the Western world.

Meanwhile an ambitious young journalist, Gareth Jones (Norton) travels to Moscow to uncover the truth behind the propaganda, but then gets a tip that could expose an international conspiracy, one that could cost him and his informant their lives.

Mr Jones is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
