‘Vikings’ returns: Season 6 trailer and start date revealed!

The History channel has announced when the final season of Vikings will begin.

Inspired by the sagas of Viking Ragnar Lothbrok, the historical drama series launched in 2013 and will come to an end next year.

The sixth season of Vikings will kick off with a two-hour premiere 9pm ET/PT on Wednesday 4th December on History.

The final season’s 20 episodes will be split in two parts, with the second half airing in 2020 after a mid-season break.

Season 6 will premiere in the UK on Amazon Prime Video shortly after its US broadcast.

The official synopsis reads: “After years of turmoil and tragedy, the series reaches its biggest climax yet with the Vikings traveling to never-before-seen locations thousands of miles from Kattegat, meeting vicious rivals worthy of their strategic combat and finally facing the consequences of Ragnar’s death.

“The Seer’s visions come to fruition as the final season answers important life-altering questions while making it clear, the war is far from over.”
