Will there be a second season of ‘Carnival Row’?
Production has already begun on the second season of Carnival Row.
Starring Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom (Pirates of the Caribbean) and British model turned actress Cara Delevingne, Amazon’s hit new show launched this summer.
Carnival Row is set in a Victorian fantasy world filled with mythological immigrant creatures and all eight episodes from Season 1 can be viewed on Amazon Prime.
It was announced in July, before the show had even premiered, that Carnival Row had been renewed for a second season.
Carnival Row creator Travis Beacham was as surprised as anyone by the show’s success!
He told The Verge: “I thought everything I was putting in it was insanely cool, but I never imagined that it would resonate with anyone else. I think that’s really the history of this project, is just being constantly surprised by the fact that I’m not the only person who likes this sort of thing.”
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim has confirmed that Season 2 will again consist of eight episodes.
He explained: “We structured Season 1 as an eight-chapter novel because we noticed that some short-order shows are structured like a movie where it’s a three-act structure. Travis and I found the middle of the season tends to lag a little bit on those shows.
“With our approach, in the middle is when everything really ramps up and changes. So it’s allowed for us to tell a story where every episode is impactful, and every episode is chock full of big moments and character reveals.”
Don’t expect to see Season 2 anytime soon, though – the first season began filming in October 2017 and didn’t premiere until almost two years later in August 2019!
Carnival Row is available to watch on Amazon Prime.
