Channel 5 shares trailer for series 5 of All Creatures Great And Small

The hit adaptation based on best-selling author James Herriot’s cherished and iconic collection of stories will return for a new six-part series on Thursday 19th September at 9pm on Channel 5 and My5 in the UK. A Christmas special will be broadcast later this year.

Hotel Portofino S1 & S2 coming to UKTV’s U and U&Drama channels

UKTV has announced that it has secured the rights to the first two seasons of Italian Riviera drama Hotel Portofino. The first series of the hit drama will debut on Friday, 27th September at 9pm.  The second season will see its UK premiere at a later date in 2024.

Sir Ian McKellen taking a break for the rest of the year after stage fall

Sir Ian McKellen has told the BBC that he plans to take the rest of the year off to aid his recovery after his terrifying fall in June. The veteran actor broke his wrist and damaged a vertebra when fell off the stage into the audience while playing John Falstaff during a performance of Player Kings at the Noel Coward theatre.

Further big names have joined the cast of the upcoming adaptation of the beloved Enid Blyton children’s classic The Magic Faraway Tree. The novel is being adapted by Horrible Histories and Ghosts star Simon Farnaby for the big screen. Farnaby has previously written the screenplay for Wonka, Paddington 2 and the upcoming sequel ‘Paddington in Peru.’

Rupert Everett and Ruby Stokes cast in new period biopic of the fifth Marquess of Anglesey, ‘Madfabulous’

Filming is underway in Wales on the new period feature about the flamboyant 19th century aristocrat, Henry Paget, the fifth Marquess of Anglesey.  Rupert Everett (The Happy Prince) and Ruby Stokes (Bridgerton) will join Callum Scott Howells (It’s A Sin) who will play the role of Henry Paget.
