‘Call the Midwife’ recap: What happened in Season 10 Episode 4?
The tenth season of Call the Midwife continued in the UK tonight!
Following last year’s filming delay due to the coronavirus pandemic, seven brand new episodes are finally here.
The hit period drama series about a group of nurse midwives in the East End of London first aired in 2012, based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth.
The new season of Call the Midwife will premiere in the US later this year on PBS.
Here’s a plot recap for the fourth episode, which aired on BBC One at 8pm on Sunday 9th May 2021:
It’s July 1966, and Great Britain is in the grip of World Cup fever.
While Poplar prepares for the festivities, Nonnatus House awaits the arrival of four new Pupil Midwives, including Nancy Corrigan (Megan Cusack) who makes quite an impact.
However, things get off to a tricky start as the new Pupil Midwives learn the lay of the land.
Dr Turner (Stephen McGann) and Nurse Crane (Linda Bassett) discover a 17-year-old boy is harbouring a desperate secret that forces him to take drastic action.
Unbeknown to Violet (Annabelle Apsion), Fred (Cliff Parisi) puts on an accumulator bet for the World Cup which keeps any winnings rolling forward.
When England reaches the final against West Germany, Fred questions whether he has made the right decision.
Meanwhile, Cyril (Zephryn Taitte) and Lucille’s (Leonie Elliott) relationship continues to blossom.
