‘Call the Midwife’ recap: What happened in Season 9 Episode 4?
The ninth season of Call the Midwife continued in the UK tonight.
The BBC’s hit period drama series about a group of nurse midwives working in the East End of London is back with eight brand new episodes.
Here’s a plot recap for Season 9’s fourth episode, which aired at 8pm on Sunday 26th January 2020 on BBC One:
Sister Julienne volunteers Nonnatus House to take part in a training initiative to help doctors with an obstetrics diploma.
Dr Turner and Sister Julienne hope the exercise will remind the council how vital Nonnatus House is to the community and avoid the threat of demolition.
The young doctors cause a lot of excitement but end up causing Sister Julienne to lose her temper. This may not be the success she had hoped for.
On his rounds, Fred comes across a street marked for demolition, but one house clearly shows signs of life.
The sound of a cough leads him to the flat of 60-year-old George, who doesn’t want to leave behind his beloved pigeon, Dot.
