Watch the ‘Grantchester’ cast do impressions of each other’s accents

The cast of Grantchester recently sat down to read through a script online – but with a twist!

Based on the novels by James Runcie, ITV’s popular period drama series is currently on hiatus ahead of filming on the recently confirmed sixth season.

While stuck at home during lockdown, Grantchester writer Daisy Coulam was joined by cast members Tom Brittney, Robson Green, Al Weaver, and Tessa Peake-Jones for a video chat.

The five of them acted out an old script, but swapping characters, with very funny results.

(Tom Brittney’s attempt at Robson Green’s accent is a particularly hilarious highlight!)

The new season of Grantchester is expected to begin production next month.

However, this could still change due to the worldwide coronavirus pandemic, which has already seen filming shut down on the new season of Call the Midwife and many others TV series.

Season 6 will (hopefully) air in the UK in early 2021 on ITV and next summer in the US on PBS Masterpiece.

In the meantime, Amazon Prime members can currently catch up on the first four seasons of Grantchester for free!

If you’ve not already got Amazon Prime, you can still rewatch all 25 episodes at no cost by signing up for a free 30-day trial here.

Grantchester is available on DVD on Amazon.
