US premiere date confirmed for ‘Beecham House’
American viewers will finally be able to see Beecham House this weekend!
Created by the writer and director of Bend It Like Beckham, ITV’s new period drama series aired in the UK last summer.
Beecham House is set on the cusp of the 19th century in India.
The all-star cast includes many familiar faces from British period dramas, including Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey), Tom Bateman (Vanity Fair), Dakota Blue Richards (Endeavour), Leo Suter (Victoria), Gregory Fitoussi (Mr Selfridge) and Bessie Carter (Les Miserables).
Beecham House is based in Delhi, before the British ruled the region, and follows the residents of the titular house, an imposing mansion surrounded by acres of exotic woods and pristine lawns.
PBS Passport subscribers will be able to watch all six episodes from Sunday 1st March.
It’s expected that the series will also be shown on PBS Masterpiece on Sunday nights later this year.
Beecham House received mostly positive reviews upon its UK launch, but ITV announced last December that they wouldn’t be renewing the show for a second season.
However, like the recently-aired Sanditon, there is the possibility of more episodes being made if viewing figures in America are high enough.
Beecham House star Lesley Nicol reprised her Downton Abbey role as Mrs Patmore in the hit movie last autumn.
Beecham House is available on DVD on Amazon.
