‘Britannia’ trailer: First look at historical fantasy drama’s new season – watch!
Sky has released an epic new trailer for the second season of Britannia.
Set in 43AD, the British historical fantasy series launched on Sky Atlantic last year, starring David Morrissey, Kelly Reilly, Zoë Wanamaker and Mackenzie Crook.
Season 2 started filming last summer and it’s now been confirmed that the new episodes will premiere in the UK this autumn on Sky Atlantic and TV streaming service NOW TV.
Cameron Roach, commissioning editor for drama at Sky, previously commented: “The series is a tale of clashing faith systems, torn apart families, mystic men and fearsome queens, all told with humour, heart, epic drama and violence.”

The official synopsis for Season 2 reads: “Two years on from invading Britannia, General Aulus (David Morrissey) is romanising willing Celt tribes with the help of Celtic Queen Amena (Annabel Scholey), and crushing those who try to resist.
“Aulus’s behaviour raises suspicions that he has another agenda; one that raises ghosts in Amena’s past and makes his threat to the Druids ever more critical. The only form of hope for the Druids and Celts is Cait (Eleanor Worthington-Cox), a young girl being trained by outcast Druid Divis (Nikolaj Lie Kaas), to fulfil a prophecy that would save Britannia from the Romans.
“But when the dead man wakes, two Druid brothers – Veran (Mackenzie Crook) and Harka (Mackenzie Crook) begin an epic battle of wills that divides the Druids and puts the prophecy in jeopardy.”
Season 1 is available to watch now on Amazon Prime.
