‘Downton Abbey’ and ‘Victoria’ theme park attractions will open in 2018

ITV has announced plans to open its own theme park in England next year, featuring Downton Abbey and Victoria attractions.

The mini theme park will be located in central London and will offer 250,000 visitors a year the chance to “experience” ITV programmes in person, Digital Spy reports.

The venue “could include a 100-seat auditorium for immersive cinematic presentations and a restaurant” and promises a “distinctive visitor experience” including sets, costumes and props from popular ITV shows such as Downton, Victoria and Broadchurch, according to promotional material issued to property industry professionals.

An official ITV statement reads: “As part of our business, we have a team which operates experiential events around our programmes, including the Emmerdale Studio Experience and This Morning Live, and are always looking at new ways to expand this and bring in new programme brands.”

The new season of Victoria begins in the UK tonight on ITV and the long-awaited Downton Abbey movie is due to start filming in early 2018.
