‘Downton Abbey’ star says ‘you’re going to have tears’ watching movie
Downton Abbey fans had better stock up on tissues!
We’ve still got a few months to go until the long-awaited Downton Abbey movie finally arrives in cinemas, but star Allen Leech has given some hints about what to expect.
And it sounds like we’re in for an emotional rollercoaster!
Written by Downton creator Julian Fellowes, the movie finished filming last November and will feature (almost) the entire TV show’s main cast returning to their roles.
Leech, who plays Tom Branson, told Vanity Fair: “It’s a big, epic story that’s definitely going to fill the big screen.
“That was our worry about taking the show from the small screen to the big screen. But you have Julian Fellowes, who won an Oscar for writing, and he’s done a great job with the story.”
Intriguingly, the Irish actor added: “I was very surprised about the angle that Julian went with…”
He also warned: “It’s Julian—you’re going to have tears. He’s never too saccharine-sweet, so be prepared for everything.”
A number of new cast members for the movie were announced last year, including two familiar faces as King George V and Queen Mary.
The Tudors star Max Brown also has a secret role in the film.
