‘Downton Abbey’ writer Julian Fellowes is developing ANOTHER period drama series

Julian Fellowes certainly does like to keep busy!

The Oscar-winning English screenwriter already has an upcoming Downton Abbey movieNetflix drama series The English Game (exploring the origins of football in the late 1800s), NBC’s much-anticipated The Gilded Age series, an adaptation of Paul Torday’s novel The Girl On The Landing, and Masterpiece movie The Chaperone (reuniting with Downton star Elizabeth McGovern) on his slate.

Now he’s also working with producer Jemima Khan on a new drama series about the Rothschild banking dynasty, titled Five Arrows.

The series will tell the story of how “in one generation, [they] rose from the deprivation of the ghetto to become the richest and most powerful family in history,” Deadline reports.

Nathan Mayer Rothschild almost single-handedly financed the British war effort during the Napoleonic Wars in 1803-1815.

Set in the early 19th Century and described as “one of the ultimate rags-to-riches tales, set against the backdrop of war and revolution,” Five Arrows is being developed with Sky Atlantic.

Downton Abbey: The Complete Collection DVD box set is available on Amazon.
