Focus Features shares teaser trailer to Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale
Focus Features has shared the first teaser trailer to its eagerly-awaited sequel ‘Downton Abbey: The Grande Finale,’ which will arrive in cinemas on Sept 12, 2025.
The third and final Downton Abbey film will be directed by Simon Curtis and written by Julian Fellowes, the creative force behind the original series. Principal photography began on 13 May, 2024, and wrapped in August.
What is it about?
‘Downton Abbey: The Grande Finale’ is set in the 1930s and charts the Crawley family and the staff of Downton Abbey as they prepare to take their final bow. Fans can expect to see the return of familiar faces and to see old storylines finding resolution. The film will mark an emotional ending to the franchise, which has captured hearts for the last fifteen years.
Is the regular cast returning?
Audiences can expect to see the return of the core cast members: Hugh Bonneville, Elizabeth McGovern, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Jim Carter, Phyllis Logan, Robert James-Collier, Joanne Froggatt, Allen Leech, Penelope Wilton, Lesley Nicol, Michael Fox, Raquel Cassidy, Brendan Coyle, Kevin Doyle, Harry Hadden-Paton, Sophie McShera, and Douglas Reith.
Paul Giamatti and Dominic West are also returning in the roles of Harold Levinson and Guy Dexter. New cast members include Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale, and Arty Froushan.

In the UK, Downton Abbey was originally shown on ITV. In the US, it aired on PBS as part of their Masterpiece Classic collection. It is currently available to stream on platforms like Prime Video, BritBox, and Netflix in both the UK and the US. In Canada, Netflix also streams the series.
