‘Lady Chatterley’s Lover’ preview: Netflix movie reveals pics and release date
We’ve got some brand new photos from Netflix’s upcoming adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover!
First published in 1928, D. H. Lawrence’s classic novel was not allowed to be published in the UK until 1960.
It was first revealed last year that Life of Pi screenwriter David Magee was writing a new adaptation of Lady Chatterley’s Lover for Netflix.
Fresh from her acclaimed performance as the young Princess Diana in the fourth season of The Crown, Emma Corrin quickly boarded the cast as Lady Chatterley.
She was then joined by Jack O’Connell and Matthew Duckett as groundskeeper Oliver Mellors and Constance’s husband, Sir Clifford Chatterley.
O’Connell will be familiar from BBC mini-series The North Water, while Matthew Duckett appeared in ITV drama A Confession.
The cast also includes Joely Richardson (The Tudors) as housekeeper Mrs. Bolton, Ella Hunt (Cold Feet) as Mrs. Flint, and Faye Marsay (Game of Thrones) as Hilda.
(Trivia fans will be interested to know that Joely Richardson previously played Lady Chatterley in Ken Russell’s 1993 TV adaptation!)
Filming began in 2021, with French filmmaker Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (The Mustang) directing the project.

We can now reveal that the new Lady Chatterley’s Lover film will be getting a cinema release prior to its Netflix premiere.
The film will be out in select cinemas on Friday 25th November.
It’ll then be streaming exclusively on Netflix from Friday 2nd December.
Discussing director Clermont-Tonnerre’s vision for the movie, Emma Corrin told Netflix: “I think it says so much about what it is to be a woman needing sexual pleasure and intimacy and the legitimacy of that need and that want.”
She explained: “It’s not something that you should be ashamed about. It’s not something that you should deprive yourself of. It’s something that we all need.”
The official synopsis from Netflix reads: “The film stars The Crown’s Emma Corrin as Lady Constance Chatterley, whose happy marriage to Sir Clifford Chatterley (Matthew Duckett) soon turns sour when he returns wounded and scarred from World War I.
“No longer able to walk, Clifford treats his wife as a nursemaid, leaving her more lonely than she thought possible. For a while, Constance’s only companion is housekeeper Mrs. Bolton (Joely Richardson).
“But things change when she meets Oliver Mellors (Jack O’Connell), the new gamekeeper for the couple’s English estate. What begins as a tentative flirtation soon explodes into a mess of passion and sexual discovery that threatens to unravel Constance’s entire existence.”
Ahead of the release of Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Emma Corrin is starring alongside Harry Styles (Don’t Worry Darling) in an adaptation of My Policeman.
Set in the 1950s in Brighton, England, the emotional story of forbidden love is based on Bethan Roberts’ novel.

My Policeman is released in cinemas next Friday, then premieres globally on Amazon Prime Video in November.
Lady Chatterley’s Lover has been adapted on screen a number of times, most recently by the BBC in 2015 with James Norton (Grantchester) and Richard Madden (Game of Thrones).
