Jennifer Saunders and Miranda Hart star in hilarious ‘Mamma Mia 2’ parody – watch!

An all-star cast of comedy icons appear in a brilliant new spoof of last year’s Mamma Mia! sequel.

The two-part parody of Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! was shown during BBC One’s annual Red Nose Day telethon last night, raising money for Comic Relief.

Comic Relief is a major charity based in the UK, with a vision of a just world, free from poverty. Find out more about their incredible work here.

Starring Lily James (Downton Abbey) as the young version of Meryl Streep’s character Donna, Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again! was released in cinemas last summer.

Last night’s spoof was written by Absolutely Fabulous creator Jennifer Saunders, who appears as Cher.

It also starred Miranda Hart (Call the Midwife), Carey Mulligan (Suffragette), Bond girl Gemma Arterton, Philip Glenister (Life on Mars), comedian Alan Carr and many more.

The parody follows Jennifer Saunders’ previous spoof of the original Mamma Mia! movie for Red Nose Day back in 2009.

Featuring Dawn French (The Vicar of Dibley) and Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous) alongside Saunders as Meryl Streep, you can watch that here:

2019’s Red Nose Day also included a mini sequel to Four Weddings and a Funeral, reuniting the classic movie’s original cast, and a Bodyguard parody, featuring the surprise return of a certain The Durrells star.
