Britannia – Season 2

In 53 BC, the Roman Empire dominates Europe and Gaul. The next goal of Julius Caesar is to conquer Brittany (see this is Britain for us today). But it was not counting on the natives who reside there, with among others, druids, witches and other evil creatures.

These supernatural forces terrify and roll back the Romans, who return to the charge almost a century later. The war promises to be bloody and epic. Watch Season 1 of Britannia on NOW TV ahead of Season 2’s release later this year.

 

Beecham House – Season 1

It showcases life of the family of British merchant John Beecham in a home in India during the second half of the nineteenth century. This drama series is available to watch on ITV Hub.

 

Call the Midwife – Season 8

East End, London, 1957. A recently graduated midwife, young Jenny Lee is about to enter the workforce. But instead of the hospital where she thinks she was hired, a convent awaits her: Nonnatus House. She will discover the harsh reality of a poor neighborhood, but also meet women who are real heroines.

In this new season two new sisters; Sister Hilda, played by Fenella Woolgar (War & Peace), and Sister Frances, played by Ella Bruccoleri (The Last Kingdom) are introduced. Call the midwife is not currently available to catch up on via iPlayer we expect the series to be available on Britbox though which launches later this year in the UK (the service is already available in the US & Canada).

 

The Durrells – Season 4

In 1935, after her husband’s death and financial problems, Louisa Durrell decided to move from Bournemouth to the Greek island of Corfu with her four children.

Changes will then have to take place within this family who will see his life turned upside down overnight.

 

Endeavour – Season 6

In 1965, Endeavour Morse began his detective career in the Oxford Police. From then on, he goes on disillusionment and is about to resign when he is sent to investigate the disappearance of a 15-year-old girl. The education he received at Oxford University – which he left without having graduated – brings him many advantages, but also disadvantages, when it comes to following the rules established by the system of the police.

He decides to finally submit his letter of resignation to his superior, Inspector Fred Thursday. This one refuses because he sees the young Endeavour a great potential and he becomes his mentor. Travel back in time to 1969 as you enjoy Morse becomes a uniformed police officer. Season 6 of Endeavour aired earlier this year on UK TV.
