‘Poldark’ cast reunite for lovely group photo as final season starts filming
Production has begun on the new season of Poldark.
Writer Debbie Horsfield confirmed the sad news last month that the upcoming fifth season will be the show’s last.
The final episodes are filming now in Cornwall and Bristol, directed by Sallie Aprahamian (Doctor Who) and Justin Molotnikov (Merlin).
The cast and crew of the hit Cornish period drama series reunited this week for a group photo to mark the start of the shoot.
Charlotte Moore, Director BBC Content, commented: “BBC One viewers are set for an unmissable final series from Debbie Horsfield when Poldark returns next year.”
Aidan Turner, who plays Ross, previously explained: “…it’s nice when things naturally come to an end, you don’t want things to go on really long.”
Season 5 will air in 2019.
Season 4 premieres in the USA at 9/8c on Sunday 30th September on Masterpiece on PBS.
The first three seasons of Poldark are available to buy on DVD now.
Writer Debbie Horsfield and production company Mammoth Screen will re-team for a new television adaptation of Alexander Dumas’ The Count of Monte Cristo once Poldark ends.
