‘Rocketman’ star reveals what it’s like playing Elton John in new biopic movie

A new preview clip for Rocketman features star Taron Egerton singing classic hit ‘Tiny Dancer.’

The upcoming fantasy musical movie sees the 28-year-old British actor play a young Elton John.

Set in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the biopic tells the story of the singer’s emergence as a prodigy at the Royal Academy of Music to becoming a music superstar.

Directed by Dexter Fletcher (Bohemian Rhapsody), Rocketman also stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot), Richard Madden (Bodyguard) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World).

Taron Egerton discusses how it feels to play Elton John and recreate his music in this promotional video, which also features brand new footage from the movie:

Egerton commented: “It’s been the greatest joy of my professional life making this film.”

Director Dexter Fletcher revealed: “Taron’s actually singing in the film and he’s so convincing and his voice is incredible.”

Rocketman arrives in cinemas on Friday 31st May.
