25 Royal Shakespeare Company theatre productions are coming to BritBox

BritBox has announced some exciting new additions!

With the UK’s live venues all still closed due to the coronavirus pandemic, theatre lovers will soon be able to bring the drama into their own home.

BritBox is expanding to support the British performing arts industries with comedies, tragedies, ballets and operas from the UK’s preeminent performers available to watch later this month.

Joining July’s already confirmed new titles, twenty-five acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company productions will be added to BritBox’s Centre Stage collection in the UK from 23rd July.

The selection will include the 2013 production of Richard II starring David Tennant, the 2016 production of King Lear starring Antony Sher, and the 2018 production of Macbeth starring Christopher Eccleston.

Also amongst the collection will be The Donmar Warehouse’s renowned all-female productions of The Tempest (2016), Julius Caesar (2012), and Henry IV (2014).

If ballet is more your thing, you can watch Tchaikovsky’s The Sleeping Beauty (2017) and The Nutcracker (2018), and Talbot’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (2017), all performed by The Royal Ballet.

Meanwhile, opera fans can enjoy Puccini’s Madame Butterfly (2017), Gounod’s Faust (2019), and Mozart’s Don Giovanni (2019), as performed by The Royal Opera.
