‘SAS Rogue Heroes’ second season begins filming sooner than expected!
We’ve got very exciting news for SAS Rogue Heroes fans.
The BBC has officially confirmed this morning that production is now underway on the World War II drama’s next season!
Inspired by the origins of the world’s greatest Special Forces unit and based on Ben Macintyre’s book Rogue Heroes, the action-packed series premiered on BBC One last October.

The six-part first season attracted mostly positive reviews, becoming a hit with an audience of 9.4 million in the UK.
Following the show’s US debut, it was announced in December that SAS Rogue Heroes had been renewed for a second season.
Season 1 is still streaming on BBC iPlayer, and American viewers can catch up with a free 7-day trial of MGM+ here.
It had looked we could be in for a long wait between seasons, with writer Steven Knight busy working on multiple other films and series.
His upcoming list of projects includes the Peaky Blinders movie, Birmingham-based music drama This Town, Netflix’s adaptation of All the Light We Cannot See, a new World War II drama with Ridley Scott, and the long-awaited second season of Taboo.
Knight also recently boarded a Star Wars movie project on scriptwriting duties!
Fortunately, he’s somehow fitted in writing the next chapter of SAS Rogue Heroes, and Season 2 is already shooting in the UK and Croatia.
How many episodes will there be?
The new run will once again consist of six 60-minute episodes.
Outlander director Stephen Woolfenden is helming the new season, with Stephen Smallwood (The Serpent, Patrick Melrose) producing.
“We were blown away by the incredible reaction to Series 1 and are so excited to be back filming,” said executive producer Karen Wilson.
“Steven’s scripts are just brilliant, we have an amazing cast and we can’t wait to go on another action-packed ride with our Rogue Heroes again,” she added.
Season 2 is expected to premiere later this year or in 2024 on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK, then on MGM+ in the US.
Steven Knight’s new version of Great Expectations premiered last month, but the series was savaged be critics and audiences alike.
SAS Rogue Heroes is available to watch on MGM+.
