‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’ starts on BBC tonight

The powerful Australian drama ‘The Narrow Road to the Deep North’ is arriving on BBC today.

Based on the Booker Prize-winning novel by Richard Flanagan and directed by Justin Kurzel, the five-part series charts the life of war veteran and gifted surgeon, Dorrigo Evans.

The story charts his life, from his forbidden love affair with is uncle’s wife Amy Mulvaney, his harrowing experience in a Thai-Burmese prisoner-of-war camp in WWII, to his later years spent as a successful surgeon. The story is told in a dual timeline, moving from the past through to the present (1980s).
