‘Vanity Fair’ mini-series arrives on DVD and digital download
ITV’s new adaptation of Vanity Fair will be available to own next week.
The seven-part period drama launched last month, with the “smart and visually delightful series” attracting rave reviews.
Vanity Fair is now being released on DVD in the UK and digital download on Monday 8th October by ITV Studios.
The series is based on English novelist William Makepeace Thackeray’s classic 1847 novel and has been adapted by screen writer Gwyneth Hughes (Dark Angel, Miss Austen Regrets) with the makers of Victoria and Poldark.
The 2-disc DVD set will include four special features, focusing on ‘Becoming Thackeray’, ‘Locations’, ‘Bootcamp’ and ‘Budapest’.
Set against the backdrop of the Napoleonic Wars, Vanity Fair follows Becky Sharp (Bates Motel star Olivia Cooke) as she attempts to claw her way out of poverty and scale the heights of English Society.
The cast also includes Johnny Flynn (Genius), Martin Clunes (Doc Martin), Frances de La Tour (The History Boys), Suranne Jones (Doctor Foster), Michael Palin (Monty Python), Tom Bateman (Murder on the Orient Express), Charlie Rowe (Salvation), Claudia Jessie (Line of Duty), Simon Russell Beale (Spooks) and Claire Skinner (Outnumbered).
