‘Victoria’ Season 3 will be ‘filled to the brim with royal scandals’

Victoria fans will see Victoria and Albert challenged “as never before” when the show returns.

A third season of the hit period drama will begin filming later this year, ITV announced last month, with Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) and Tom Hughes (The Game) both reprising their roles as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Executive producer Damien Timmer commented: “Jenna Coleman and Tom Hughes shine as Victoria and Albert and it’s an honour to have them back for a third series…”

Hinting at what’s coming up, he teased: “…[Season 3] covers a tumultuous period in our country’s history, filled to the brim with royal scandals, political skirmishes and constitutional crises, as new historical figures enter the saga to challenge Victoria and Albert as never before.”

Season 2 begins in the US on Sunday 14 January on Masterpiece on PBS.

The first season of Victoria is available now on DVD.

Victoria launched in the UK in August 2016 and premiered in the US in early 2017.
