Watch the new trailer for ‘The Forsytes’
PBS has shared the new trailer to its upcoming mini-series ‘The Forsytes’, the period drama which is due for release in 2026. The series will see an earlier UK release date in late 2025, where it has been acquired by 5 (formerly Channel 5).
What is it about?
The Forsytes is based on the John Galsworthy novels that chronicle the fortunes of a well-to-do English family, exploring their successes and tragedies in the period from the 1880s to the 1920s.
According to the official logline:
“Desire, ambition and betrayal simmer at the heart of the The Forsytes which chronicles the lives, loves, trials and triumphs of a wealthy Victorian era stockbroking family, whose generations find themselves torn between tradition and self-sacrifice versus personal happiness and the pursuit of love.”

Who is in the cast?
The strong ensemble cast includes Francesca Annis as matriarch Ann Forsyte, with Jack Davenport(James Forsyte), Joshua Orpin (Soames Forsyte), Millie Gibson (Irene), Jamie Flatters (Philip Bosinney), Tom Durant Pritchard (Monty Dartie, Susan Hampshire (Lady Carteret), Stephen Moyer, Tuppence Middleton (Frances), and Eleanor Tomlinson (Louisa Byrne).
Who is behind the production?
Meenu Gaur(Murder is Easy) and Annet Laufer will shared directing responsibilities while Sara Lewis produced. Filming took place in England, Wales and Italy.
The Forsytes is produced in association with ITV Studios, which serves as international distributor, with PBS Distribution managing North American rights.
