Watch the trailer for Alice Lowe’s new sci-fi period romantic comedy
Vertigo Releasing has shared the trailer for an acclaimed sci-fi period romantic comedy called Timestalker, directed by actor and filmmaker Alice Lowe.
What is it about?
The story follows the misadventures of ill-fated heroine Agnes (Alice Lowe) through a time loop, as she meets and falls from Mr Wrong (Aneurin Barnard), dies horribly and finds herself reincarnated a century later, when she meets him again and makes the same mistakes over and over. The synopsis reads as follows:
From the creative team behind PREVENGE comes… TIMESTALKER, a romantic comedy about the eternal humiliation that is the search for love, spanning the most romantic epochs of history right into the future. Follow hapless heroine Agnes (Alice Lowe) through time as she repeatedly falls for the wrong guy, dies a grim death, and is reincarnated a century later, before meeting him again and starting the cycle anew. It is one story told over many periods, all with the messy thrills and spills that come with daring to follow your heart. Or maybe your loins…
Agnes’ only hope in avoiding this violent fate is by finally reaching spiritual enlightenment; but how can she ever wise up when she’s destined to be a fool for love? Some lessons are just too hard to learn in one lifetime.
Who is in the cast?
Lowe and Barnard are joined by Tanya Reynolds (The Decameron), Jacob Anderson (Interview With A Vampire), Kate Dickie (Game of Thrones), and Nick Frost (Hot Fuzz).
