Start date confirmed for ‘Victoria’ Season 2 – and it’s very soon!
ITV has announced when Victoria will return to UK screens.
Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) and Tom Hughes (The Game) are back as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in eight new episodes this autumn, followed by a feature-length special at Christmas.
Titled ‘A Soldier’s Daughter’, the first episode of Season 2 will air at 9.05pm on Sunday August 27 on ITV.
Written by creator and executive producer, Daisy Goodwin, the new season picks up one month after Season 1’s finale in 1840 and establishes Victoria as a working mother, learning to balance her responsibilities as both parent and Queen. However, Prince Albert is still struggling to find a role for himself alongside his powerful wife as she returns to her duties, intent on proving that she can be both a mother and dedicated Queen.
Victoria launched in the UK in August 2016 and premiered in the US earlier this year. Season 1 is available now on DVD.
Season 2 will air in the US on Masterpiece on PBS from January 2018.
