Will there be a second season of ‘The Good Karma Hospital’?

ITV has confirmed its future plans for life-affirming drama The Good Karma Hospital.

Set in Southern India, the series launched in the UK earlier this year, pulling in a strong audience of around 6.7 million viewers, with a 26% audience share.

It has been announced that a second season will begin filming in August.

The cast includes Downton Abbey star Phyllis Logan, who will return in Season 2 alongside Amanda Redman, Amrita Acharia, Neil Morrissey, James Floyd, Darshan Jariwalla, Sagar Radia and Nimmi Harasagama.

Executive producer Will Gould commented: “We are beyond delighted that The Good Karma Hospital has struck such a chord with the audience who have taken these vibrant characters and life affirming stories to their hearts.”

ITV’s Senior Drama Commissioner, Victoria Fea added: “We’re very excited about developing a second series of The Good Karma Hospital. It’s brought the warmth, colour and vibrancy of India to our wintry Sunday nights.”
