‘Downton Abbey’ star Allen Leech’s beautiful wedding photos revealed
Hello! magazine has published the first photos from Allen Leech’s recent star-studded wedding.
Best known to British period drama fans for playing Tom Branson in Downton Abbey, the 37-year-old Irish actor married American Crime Story actress Jessica Blair Herman earlier this month.
The top secret ceremony took place at Alisal Ranch and Resort in California’s Santa Ynez Valley.
Guests included Leech’s Downton Abbey co-stars Michelle Dockery (Lady Mary) and Dan Stevens (Matthew Crawley), with American actor Rami Malek also in attendance.
Malek starred alongside Leech in last year’s hit movie Bohemian Rhapsody.
Leech revealed: “When you get married in California you expect sunshine, but a little bit of Ireland blew over on the day and we had some heavy rain. Everyone rallied round, the weather only made the day more epic.”
The bad weather sadly meant that the event’s string quartet were unable to perform in the rain.
Luckily, former Glee stars Darren Criss and Lea Michele were amongst the guests and the pair volunteered to sing at the ceremony instead!
Allen explained: “Darren and Lea are such great people and great friends, and they said, ‘Absolutely no problem’ when we told them the situation. We grabbed a guitar and they ended up singing the music for our ceremony.””
He joked: “Everyone said they had never been to a wedding where everyone was singing before the bride had even arrived.”
Leech’s new wife Jessica Blair Herman commented: “As soon as I met him there was a sense of ease and comfort, that I knew marriage would be uncomplicated and beautiful with him.”
The 32-year-old TV actress has appeared in The People v OJ: American Crime Story, Modern Family and New Girl.
