Agatha Christie’s lesser-known detective duo are back on the small screen!
Where to watch: BritBox in the US and Canada
US/Canada release: September 15, 2026
UK release: To be confirmed
Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence premiered on BritBox in the US and Canada on September 15, 2026, with Tommy Beresford and Tuppence Cowley now in present-day London for a new six-part mystery series.
The series stars Antonia Thomas (The Good Doctor) as Tuppence and Josh Dylan (The Buccaneers) as Tommy. Imelda Staunton also stars as Tommy’s aunt Ada, a retired private detective who becomes involved in the pair’s adventures.

A Very Different Agatha Christie Adaptation
Unlike most recent Christie adaptations, Tommy & Tuppence does not retain the period setting of the original stories.
BritBox describes the production as the first contemporary English-language television series adaptation of Agatha Christie’s work. The new version takes the spirit of Christie’s crime-solving couple and places them firmly in modern London.
Tommy and Tuppence first appeared in Christie’s 1922 novel The Secret Adversary. Rather than resembling the more methodical Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple, the pair were young adventurers whose investigations mixed mystery with romance, humour and espionage.
The new series preserves some of that playful relationship while substantially reinventing their circumstances. Thomas’s Tuppence is impulsive and adventurous, while Dylan’s Tommy is an enthusiastic if sometimes less assured partner.
They are also former lovers, adding another complication when they are unexpectedly reunited and begin investigating crimes together.
The opening story brings the pair together at a wedding where the celebrations take a murderous turn. Their investigation ultimately leads them towards the possibility of a much larger conspiracy.

When Can You Watch Tommy & Tuppence?
Agatha Christie’s Tommy & Tuppence launched on BritBox in the United States and Canada on September 15, 2026, a date chosen to coincide with Agatha Christie’s birthday.
The first two episodes are available immediately, with the remaining episodes released weekly. The series consists of six episodes of approximately 45 minutes each.
Its arrival is also part of BritBox’s month-long “Eras of Agatha Christie” celebration, which includes classic Poirot and Marple productions alongside more recent adaptations including Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?, Murder Is Easy and Towards Zero.
For Christie fans accustomed to lavish 1920s and 1930s settings, Tommy & Tuppence is an unusual experiment: familiar characters and Christie-style mysteries transported into the 21st century.
