Daphne and Simon begin married life far from the gossip of London in Bridgerton Season 1, Episode 6, “Swish”. Their honeymoon appears blissful at first, but Daphne’s growing understanding of marriage leads her to question what Simon has told her about their future.
Main storyline: Daphne and Simon rush towards marriage after their encounter in the garden threatens to become a scandal, but misunderstandings leave both believing the other does not truly want the match. After their wedding, they finally admit their feelings for one another and begin their marriage on very different terms.
Daphne is forced to choose between the seemingly perfect Prince Friedrich and her feelings for Simon, while Anthony challenges his friend to a duel after discovering that Daphne has been compromised.
Daphne’s success on the marriage market attracts the attention of a real prince, forcing Simon to confront feelings that were never supposed to become part of their arrangement.
Daphne and Simon’s pretend courtship transforms her fortunes, but Nigel Berbrooke threatens to turn one compromising encounter into a forced marriage. Meanwhile, through flashbacks we can understand the childhood trauma that has lead to Simon’s refusal to marry or have children.
