Here’s a plot recap for the fifth episode of Season 2, ‘The Last Man In’, which aired on Channel 5 at 9pm on Thursday 14th October 2021:

When a familiar face from Helen’s past returns to Darrowby, James worries that he has to vie for her attention and steps up to compete against them at Mrs Pumphrey’s annual cricket match.

The rest of Skeldale House are apprehensive as the game can be brutal.

Siegfried tries his best to train James and get a reluctant Tristan to step in, but it’s not looking good for their Darrowby Eleven team.

At the cricket match, Tristan has to reconsider his refusal to help and things are tense for James until he realises he has to put things right in his own way.

Siegfried is asked to deal with a delicate veterinary matter which helps him to better understand his difficult relationship with his brother.
