‘Grantchester’ recap: What happened in Season 7 Episode 2?
The seventh season of Grantchester continued in the UK tonight!
Based on the novels by James Runcie, ITV’s popular crime drama is back with six brand new episodes, set in 1959.
Tom Brittney (Outlander) reprises his role as clergyman Will Davenport, alongside Robson Green (Soldier Soldier) as DI Geordie Keating.
They’re joined by Tessa Peake-Jones as Mrs C, Al Weaver as Leonard Finch, Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating, Oliver Dimsdale as Daniel Marlowe, Nick Brimble as Jack Chapman, Melissa Johns as Miss Scott, and Bradley Hall as Larry Peters.
As the Reverend Will Davenport unites happy couples in holy matrimony, Detective Inspective Geordie Keating is busy as ever investigating a range of local murder cases.
With a new decade just around the corner, the question of what the future holds is on everyone’s minds, not least Will’s, but before the ’50s roll over into the swinging sixties there are some crimes to solve and some life-changing decisions to be made that might change life in Grantchester forever.
Season 7 will arrive on American screens later this year on PBS.

Here’s a plot recap for the second episode of Season 7, which aired on ITV at 9pm on Friday 18th March 2022:
Lester Carmichael, part of the husband-and-wife team who own the Carmichael’s cleaning goods brand, is found dead, with a rather unusual neck wound.
Will and Geordie’s investigation leads them to look into Lester’s private life, which, they discover, is much less spotless than the carefully curated image he and his wife Melanie like to present to the public.
He was a regular visitor to a local suburban brothel.
Will and Geordie must consider whether Lester’s demise could have been motivated by his wife’s desire to protect the reputation of their business, or if the murder is connected to the brothel itself.
Mrs C’s recent erratic behaviour causes Jack to question whether she could be having an affair.
Meanwhile, Will is increasingly drawn to the passionate and alluring Maya.
But will she leave Elliot for him? Do they have a future together? Could Maya be ‘the one’?
Grantchester is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
