‘Grantchester’ recap: What happened in Season 7 Episode 4?

The seventh season of Grantchester continued in the UK tonight!

Based on the novels by James Runcie, ITV’s popular crime drama is back with six brand new episodes, set in 1959.

Tom Brittney (Outlander) reprises his role as clergyman Will Davenport, alongside Robson Green (Soldier Soldier) as DI Geordie Keating.

They’re joined by Tessa Peake-Jones as Mrs C, Al Weaver as Leonard Finch, Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating, Oliver Dimsdale as Daniel Marlowe, Nick Brimble as Jack Chapman, Melissa Johns as Miss Scott, and Bradley Hall as Larry Peters.

As the Reverend Will Davenport unites happy couples in holy matrimony, Detective Inspective Geordie Keating is busy as ever investigating a range of local murder cases.

With a new decade just around the corner, the question of what the future holds is on everyone’s minds, not least Will’s, but before the ’50s roll over into the swinging sixties there are some crimes to solve and some life-changing decisions to be made that might change life in Grantchester forever.

Season 7 will arrive on American screens later this year on PBS.

A member of Will’s own congregation is found murdered just before a church fundraising event.

It quickly becomes clear that the victim, Neil Hughs, was not quite the upstanding member of the community Will believed him to have been.
